The ASSAREL-MEDET mining and beneficiary facilities are
situated in the middle of the picturesque “Sredna Gora” mountain, not far away from
the town of Panagyurishte and 90 km away from Sofia.
For more than 30 years Assarel-Medet has been a major producer of
pyrite and copper concentrates in Bulgaria and one of the largest in Europe.
Assarel-Medet mines and enriches copper and copper-pyrite
ores, carries out biochemical extraction of copper, offers high grade copper and pyrite
concentrates, anodes and cathodes. The company is also active in exploration, engineering,
transport design, repair of spare parts, blasting and environment.
Alongside with its production activities the Assarel-Medet company
has undertaken the realisation of a number of joint ventures with outstanding foreign
companies producing explosives and with Bulgarian companies committed to the upgrading of
the production processes and improvement of the environment.
ASSAREL-MEDET guarantees strong mining traditions, high

data The Assarel-Medet company posted the
highest production level - 8 834 000 m3 of yielded mining mass; 8 772 000 tons
of treated copper ore.
In order to meet the growing market demands Assarel-Medet
will increase the output of copper ores, concentrates, cathodes, cement, gold, clay and
explosives.
 Copper floatation concentrate:
Cu-over 20%; S-over 35%; Au-2 up to 4 ppm; Ag-30 up to 40 ppm; H2O-max 10%;
sizing of 80-90% of the material - 0.08 mm.
Copper cement: Cu-over 60%, H2O-15%.
Pyrite concentrate: S-over 42%;
Fe-41%; Ag-over 3%; gold, copper, etc.;
H2O-max 10%;
granulometric content of 90% of the material - 0.08 mm.
Copper cathodes: Cu-99.95 up to
99.99%; sheet sizing: 860/860; thickness: 4-15 mm; packing- in bundles, strapped with
metal bands, containing 20-25 sheets of cathodes; bundle weight: 1500-2000 kg.
