Start of Trakia construction may be delayed

Trace refuted media publications that the delay of the project may raise construction costs.

The start of construction of Trakia motorway's lot 2 may be delayed 15 days if the Commission on Protection of Competition (CPC) initiates proceedings on the complaints against the project winner, Trace Group Hold. Works on the stretch between Stara Zagora and Nova Zagora are scheduled to begin on May 3.

We hold firm on our offer and we are ready to build the stretch for BGN 137.8 million, Trace told the Pari daily, refuting media publications that the delay of the project may raise construction costs. The CPC has to come up with a decision on the complaints filed by Greece's Terna and Austria's Strabag by March 18. If proceedings are launched on any of the complaints, the term for completion is two months.
